Raising of the Son of Theophilus and Saint Peter Enthroned (Resurrezione del figlio di Teofilo e San Pietro in cattedra), by Masaccio and Filippino Lippi, 1427-1485, 15th Century, fresco, 230 x 599 cm Detail. Portion of a fresco in the inferior part of the left wall, which depicts a miracle by Saint Peter; a group of people crowds around a naked boy, who kneels down upon his own shroud, upon bones and skulls; the young man, come back from the death, holds out his arms towards Saint Peter, recognizable for his beard and white, short hair; the Saint, who wears an orange mantle, is faced backwards, holding out his hand in order to invoke a blessing; next to him can be recognized Saint Paul, who prays kneeling down, his gaze towards the sky; among the onlookers there is a child with long blond hair who looks down and hugs to an adult, and the governor of Antiochia, Teophilus, sitting in a niche on the left, surrounded by dignitaries, one of whom turns to watch him; the scene takes place outdoors, in a small square, closed by a wall with decorative panels and surmounted by three big vases; beyond the wall, trees' foliage Masaccio e Filippino Lippi Brancacci Chapel
