The world's leading specialists in the distribution of fine art, cultural and historical media for reproduction. Rights managed, managed right.
Founded in 1972, Bridgeman Images works with museums, galleries, collections and artists to provide a central resource of fine art and archive footage for reproduction to creative professionals. Every subject, concept, style and medium is represented, from the masterpieces of national museums to the hidden treasures of private collections.
Spanning centuries of visual communication, photographic reproductions of paintings, sculpture, textiles, maps and anthropological artefacts can all be found in the collection as well as newer forms of media including early photography, newsreels and documentaries.
High resolution images and clips are accessible for users all over the world; each one has been meticulously catalogued with industry leading metadata and key-word functions to give a search experience that is second-to-none for professionals and novices alike.
Our images are used in hundreds of different ways. From book covers to advertising campaigns, interior design to editorial content as well as websites, mobile apps and more.
Our website allows you to explore the collection in depth with quick and advanced search facilities. We also provide a full research service whereby our researchers can select images and clips to suit your requirements.

Information for artists and galleries
For over forty years, Bridgeman Images has provided a service for artists and artists' estates, clearing copyright and reproduction rights on their behalf.
Bridgeman Images represents thousands of image suppliers - more than any other agency - including:
Often, we photograph their work specifically to make their images available for reproduction. Bridgeman pioneered the model of returning a percentage of licensed income to partner image suppliers to help them conserve and exhibit their works.
The Bridgeman Artists' Copyright Service (BACS)
The Bridgeman Artists' Copyright Service is a service to artists and their estates to administer their copyright and sell reproduction licenses for their work. Our clients benefit from being able to pay in a single transaction for a reasonably priced license for both artist and photographic copyright.
Bridgeman Copyright Artists & Estates
Artists and their estates join BACS in order to take advantage of our expertise and commercial awareness. Working with Bridgeman gives them the unique ability to have their copyright licensing policed and their images promoted to our international client base.
Some artists place a selection of images with us and grant us rights to license those specific images at our discretion. Others place their whole copyright with us for administration. This flexibility in working with artists' differing preferences has allowed us to build up a body of images that clients find compelling.
Museums & Collections
For over forty years Bridgeman Images has been working with museums from around the world. From large museums to galleries, historical societies to universities, many of the treasures in these collections had never been made readily accessible to a wider audience until they were photographed specifically for Bridgeman to make available for reproduction. As with the artists we represent, Bridgeman passes along 50% of the reproduction fee back to the museum or collection in order to provide vital revenue for conservation and future exhibitions.
