The images within the collections of English historic houses are key to showing the tastes and lifestyles of some of the most aristocratic families over the last few centuries.

They include pastoral scenes by Samuel Palmer, vast English country houses, exotic lands visited on the Grand Tour and sumptuous portraits by Sir Joshua ReynoldsPompeo Batoni and Thomas Gainsborough.
