A football match at Karoja, 1939. Photograph, World War Two, East Africa, 1939. The match featured British soldiers and Ugandan men from the 4th (Uganda) Battalion, The King’s African Rifles. Football was as popular with African army units as it was with British regiments. From an album of 608 photographs compiled by Colin Campbell of the King’s African Rifles.
