Creator: unknown A quarter plate tintype photograph [note image is reversed]. A port quarter view believed to be of the Thames paddle steamer Queen Elizabeth (1895), up stream about to pass under Kingston Bridge. Her funnel has been hinged backwards to about 45 degrees in order to shoot the bridge span. On the bridge are two double-decker trams. The rear-most tram is advertising Van Houten's Cocoa and the front tram is advertising soap. In the foreground are a number of punts/rowing boats bows-to the river bank. A solitary man is standing near the punts, his right arm raised with his hand on the side of his head. His left hand is on his waist. Next to the bridge are a number of buildings with large advertising boards on the walls, partially obscured by the after saloon of the paddle steamer.
