Summer 1963. Fishing village on return. Kabelvåg was in the old days the absolute leading place in Lofoten, the city of Svolvær is just the upside in comparison. But then it ended. You did not get a call from the fast route, and now it is almost not fish either. What happens to the fishing village? The picture: Kabelvåg with its vital pier. This is the third edition of the place. The first disappeared during a storm in the 1880s, while edition number two was partially destroyed during a party in the worker. But it was the storm and not the party, which was the cause of it. Without the powerful pier, the fishing boats would not have had many chances when the big sea rages. Photo: Sverre A.
