Next to the art museum (“Kunsthalle”) in Berne, Switzerland, the pavement is being destroyed systematically with the help of a wrecking ball that weighs one ton, pictured on March 20, 1969. Berne's “Kunsthalle” entitled “When Attitudes Become Form”. To smooth ruffled feelings: The costs for the repair of the pavement will be covered by the artist himself. At the time of the incident, Swiss Harald Szeemann serves as the art museum's director. When his exhibition “When Attitudes Become Form”, which was decicated to the artistic avant-garde, received a negative response, Szeemann left Berne.
