In June 1959, the Swiss ex-car racing driver and writer Hans Rueesch (1913-2007) played double table tennis with his wife in the garden of his chalet in Klosters. Rueesch drove numerous car races in Europe in the 30s and won several Grand Prix titles. After an accident in 1938 he gave up his career as a racing driver and started writing books and articles for magazines. Rueesch lived some years in the USA where his novels were very successful and partly filmed. Later he returned to Switzerland, where he was also active in animal and nature conservation and against the pharmaceutical industry.
