Lone Droscher-Nielsen, a project manager for "The Orang-utan Reintroduction Project", helps care for a three-month-old baby orang-utan at the Ragunan zoo in Jakarta on February 19, 2003. The baby, called Bali, had been shot three times near a remote village on Indonesia's side of Borneo island, but managed to survive and was operated on at the zoo. Droscher-Nielsen said around 50-60 orang-utans had been killed, died in captivity, sold locally or smuggled to other parts of Indonesia or perhaps even abroad during the last three to six months.
