De Bruijn and compatriate Pieter van den Hooganband, Olympic gold medalist for the 100 and 200 metre freestyle events at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, will return to the Olympic pool for the first time since their gold medal winning peformances last September. Promoters lured the duo back to Australia with a 'lucrative' package that has upset several Australian swimmers also competing in the event. DG
