A cameraman at Mexican Channel "CNI 40" prepares his camera for the evening newscast, which now will only be broadcast over the internet, after their frequency was stopped by the government Mexico City on January 10, 2003. The Mexican government took over the frequency of the contested Mexico City television channel last night as they were unable to settle a dispute with TV Azteca, after CNI 40 pulled out of a US$25 million business partnership two years ago. The government intervention came two weeks after workers from major Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca took over CNI Channel 40's transmission tower, one of Mexico's few independent TV stations, and replaced CNI's signal with Azteca's.
