TREASURES FROM PETRA UNPACKED AT NEW YORK MUSEUM, 2003-07-17 (photo)

A limestone bust of Cancer from the 2nd century AD is shown at a preview shortly after it was unpacked at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on July 17, 2003. The bust will be part of an exhibit, "Petra: Lost City of Stone" which will open at the museum on October 18, 2003. The museum says the exhibit is the most comprehensive ever presented on the ancient city of Petra and its creators, the Nabataeans, and the first major cultural collaboration between Jordan and the United States.
