Navy troops remove some of the protesters belongings after U.S. agents arrested several dozen of the protesters at the gates of the U.S. military base Garcia on the Puerto Rican island of Vieques May 4. The arrests marked a move by the U.S. government to end an occupation of Camp Garcia that began more than a year ago, shortly after an errant bomb killed a civilian security guard at the base. Protesters have demanded the U.S. Navy stop bombing at Vieques, clean up the base of toxic chemicals and unexploded ordnance and give its land back to the people of the island. AM/JP
