Woodcut with explanatory text, showing a completed hemisphere from 'De fabrica, et usu hemisphaerii uranici' by Giovanni Paolo Gallucci (1538-c 1621), published in Venice in 1596. The book describes the method of constructing and using observational instruments and sundials.
