Lipi, a mother of 3, has been ill for the last nine months and was detected a TB patient by a local private practitioner three months ago. She was admitted to the hospital on May 22, 2005. Both Lipi and her husband were unaware of TB and its treatment. Two of her children are having exams and so, she keeps the youngest one with her. However, she did not send her children to be tested for TB. Dhaka, Bangladesh. August 07, 2005. Bangladesh ranks fifth among the worlds 22 highest burden TB countries. Every year around 300,000 new TB cases are filed and almost 70, 0000 die of it. Reportedly, 54 per cent of them do not get any treatment at all. (photo)
