Autograph: Letter written by Henry Fielding in his capacity of police-magistrate, between the dates of the publication of 'Tom Jones' (1749) and 'Amelia' (1751) to Hutton Perkins, a lawyer, on the subject of an anonymous communication to the Earl of Hardwicke, Lord Chancellor. Henry Fielding warns him that a plot had been formed against his life by three keepers of gaming-houses which had lately been closed, as they thought, by his orders. Written in Bow Street, 25 November 1750. Signature: Henry Fielding. English novelist and dramatist, 22 April 1707-near Lisbon, 8 October 1754. Source: British Museum.
