The Iron Hindenburg, Berlin. The wooden statue of Field Marshal Hindenburg erected in the Konigsplatz in 1915. It was an example of a Man of Nails, statues into which nails were hammered in return for a donation to members of the armed services and their dependents in Germany and the Austro-Hungarian Empire during the First World War.
