The Holy Family resting beneath a tree, in a wooded landscape, attended by putti and an angel bringing flowers – on the right sits the Virgin on an embankment, dressed in pink with a blue cloak draped across her lap and legs, she is suckling the Christ Child at her left breast, her head is turned to a winged angel looking down on her and standing to her right dressed in a light flowing drape and holding [?] ; Joseph sits centre, to the left of the angel, his back to the spectator, holding up a book and looking towards the Virgin; two winged putti play on the ground beneath the Christ Child and two further putti descend from the sky to the left, one carrying a tray of flowers, the other scattering them; wooded landscape in foreground, with distant view of houses to the left with sky above.
