Full-length portrait, turned to the left gazing at the spectator, in a full-bottomed powdered wig, and wearing a grey coat with silver frogging and with the star and sash of the Garter and (?) Chancellor of the Exchequer's robes, white hose and buckled shoes, his right hand held forward, a glove in his left; on a table at the left, covered with a crimson cloth, is a letter addressed to the sitter.
