James Leigh, a reputed former undercover agent for the U.S. Justice Department appears in silhouette in a photo taken April 23, 2001. James Leigh has alleged that the Canadian Alliance Party hired him to "get the goods" on Canadian Prime Jean Chretien and his business dealings. A political storm broke when the matter became public in which Opposition leader Stockwell Day admitted meeting the man and then later recanted. Earlier today, Stockwell's chief of staff Ian Todd resigned in which Alliance Party officials say had nothing to do with the spy controversy. Leigh has refused to show his face due to threats from a previous case involving Asian gang activity. AC
