Image description

On back of photograph: Wink/Rabies Vaccine Gives ‘Long-Time’ Immunization for Dogs. This series of photos was taken at the Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, New York and show you the steps taken in the creation of this new rabies vaccine —- which is safer, stronger, does not cause paralysis after injection (frequently was the case with the old-type vaccine), gives a ‘long-time’ immunization from a ‘single injection’ and is effective against all kinds of 'street' rabies, even strains from Indian and Greece --- clearly the most important advance in the treatment of rabies since Pasteur in 1885! The embryos are then weighed carefully in small sterile containers. Their exact weight shows how much liquid will be needed to dilute them. This photo shows the embryos being ground in a Waring blender for a few minutes after being diluted. 7.625” x 9.5”
