Location: Various, Romania Creator: Mario Carbone Every year on Mount Gaina, in the western part of Romania, a large outdoor party takes place, which is a manifestation of popular culture and tradition. The documentary describes its development, which consists above all in the ascension of the mountain by the participants, who come from the small villages scattered in the valleys and on the slopes of the mountains of region. The film underlines the function that the party once had, when it was an opportunity for meeting between isolated populations, who on that occasion intertwined relationships of friendship, commerce, engagements and weddings. Today the party represents a break of relaxation and serenity in the daily effort, it is a day when ancient, austere and sumptuous costumes are worn together, in an atmosphere of excitement and freedom in which couples who form, perhaps for a few hours, sing and dance together.
