Meyer's autographic telegraph. The image to be dispatched was written on metallised paper with insulating ink and placed round a metal cylinder. A metal stylus moved over the dispatch from side to side; and as contact was made and broken by the ink; impulses were sent to receiving station where a second stylus reproduced the image on paper impregnated with potassium Ferro cyanide, 1874.
