The building was built c.1895 by James Cackett and later altered c.1932 by Burns Dick and Mackellor, and includes the shop on the ground floor, and office and workshop space on the remaining three floors above. The curved corner in the centre of the building had a blind entrance on the ground floor, and cantilevered clock on the first floor, topped with a small statue of a female figure added c1932. Over the third floor windows is a large sign for Rolex watches, and above is a circular cupola with an arcade of round-headed arches and a domed roof. On either side, the bays are structured 2:4 leading away from the corner bay, with the two closer bays topped with a wide pediment.
