Saved on the fly (colour litho)

Saved on the fly. In Syracuse, a 17-year-old student, Corrado Ruscica, was working in his room, when he saw two feet hanging from the window. A young girl, Elvia Salomone, was hanging by her dress on a hook. She ran down into the yard; a few moments later, having torn off the strip of cloth that held her on the hook, the girl rushed. The Ruscica leaned toward her and managed to grab her before it touched the ground saving her from certain death. Both fell to the ground, the young man got away with minor bruises; Solomon suffered serious injuries. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 17 February 1957.
