In the lower part of the panel the scene of Dormitio - the deep sleep of Mary before taking in the sky - is filled by a large group of figures, the Madonna on her deathbed with her hands folded on her lap is surrounded by the twelve Apostles, in the background on top of a hill there is a small figure kneeling towards the sky; above the scene of the Virgin Mary and the Apostles there are some legs of angels in the clouds.
