A Venezuelan Globovision's reporter (R) interviews people outside the station in Caracas, October 3, 2003. Venezuelan telecommunications officials confiscated transmission equipment from a leading private television channel on Friday in what the station called an attempt to muzzle its fiercely anti-government broadcasts. Globovision director said officials from the state telecommunications watchdog, Conatel, seized five pieces of equipment after accusing the station of broadcasting on illegal frequencies.
