On a white background, stand out a red headline above the table of contents, in black with red underlines, and, further down, a drawing in blue pen on paper; it is drawn from a project made by an anonymous Irish engineer in 1856 and shows a wooden circle inscribed into a slightly bigger circle; the latter being more darkly dashed as it is built in a different material; they represent respectively a wood cylindrical wagon and the tube in which it travels relating indeed to a futuristic underwater train crossing the English Channel, whose wagons are driven by compressed air; into the cround section wagon are depicted two male passengers, seated one against the other; the gentleman on the right, in suit and top hat, is consulting a notebook while the other, wearing a lined hat and a voluminous scarf, holds a book opened on the right hand.
