China's motorcycle industry faces an uphill road to reorganisation as it tries to ride out of disarray and disorder. Many small Chinese manufacturers illegally assemble parts bought from others and sell their products at low prices. During the 1990s, high returns lured many investors to rush in and the industry ended up with 200 motorcycle producers.
