Fairy Ground, Douglas, Isle of Man, 1912 (b/w photo)

On the back of this photograph John James Frowde writes, "Same subject as No 15, but one of a number of plates of buildings in the old town taken by Mr. Tom Keig in 1912: at a time when all such buildings were in occupation. L. centre is the front of the Manchester Hotel, with a two storey projection. The interest of the picture lies, chiefly, in the two house fronts on the R. There could not have been more than a boarding between the two houses; certainly not a wall." Additional note: "At this time the Manchester had a peaked front gable as had the Ellan Vannin Arms until demolition."
