Members of a gay group carry a wreath with the shape of a pink triangle, the sign which was used by the Nazis to mark the homosexuals at the former Sachsenhausen Nazi concentration camp January 27 where 200 homosexuals were killed in 1942. The wreath reads "In commemoration of the homosexual Nazi victims". Germany formally honoured homosexuals persecuted by the Nazis for the first time on Wednesday, but gay groups called for a "long-overdue" government apology.[In ceremonies in parliament and at former concentration camps, Germans remembered the six million European jews and untold dissidents, gypsies, homosexuals, the disabled and prisoners of war who were killed. ]
