Satire on the Westminster election with crowds in Covent Garden piazza with St Paul's church in the background. The 1747 general election was won by the Whigs with an increased majority - Granville Leveson Gower, 1st Marquess of Stafford, Viscount Trentham (1721–1803) and Sir Peter Warren (1703/4-52) naval officer were elected in the Westminster constituency. Independent Jacobites were unsuccessful.
