Quashed leading Alcazar. Quashed (T Weston) leading Alcazar (J Childs) in the race for the Jockey Club Cup at Newmarket, October 1935. Owned by Lord Stanley, the son and heir of the Earl of Derby, Quashed is trained by C Leader at Newmarket, and is a filly by Obliterate out of Verdict. Winner of the Oaks in 1935, Quashed won the Ascot Gold Cup in sensational style from the supposed unbeatable American challenger, Omaha, in 1936.
