A full-length portrait, standing, right arm leaning on the pedestal of a pillar; holds a letter in his right hand and a staff of office in his right, and wearing a long, black robe and a white ruff. He was Chancellor of the Exchequer (1620/1-1628) and Lord High Treasurer (1628-1635). The original of the sitter as Lord High Treasurer is lost. The present picture was accepted as autograph in the Kingston Lacy inventories and praised as such by Waagen. Kingston Lacy Estate, Dorset (Accredited Museum)
