Festung Gross-Friedrichsburg. Den ersten Kolonialbesitz des Brandenburgisch-Preussischen Staates begrundete der Grosse Kurfurst. In seinem Auftrage erwarb Major v d Groeben Land an der afrikanischen Guineakuste, hisste hier die brandenburgische Flagge und legte die Festung Gross-Friedrichsburg an. Leider wurden diese Besitzungen schon 1717 an die westindische Kompagnie veraussert. Translation: Fortress Gross-Friedrichsburg. The Great Elector founded the first colonial possessions of the Brandenburg-Prussian state. On his behalf, Major v d Groeben acquired land on the African coast of Guinea, hoisted the Brandenburg flag here and built the fortress of Gross-Friedrichsburg.
