A New York hospital worker died early October 31, 2001 from inhaling the potential germ warfare bacteria anthrax, the fourth person to die of anthrax in the United States this month, city officials said. New York City Health Department spokeswoman Sandra Mullin said it was not clear how the 61-year-old woman, who worked in a storage supply room in the basement of the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, shown, came into contact with anthrax. A spokeswoman for the city medical examiner's office said the woman, identified as Kathy Nguyen of the Bronx, died at 1:16 a.m. EST (0616 GMT) in Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.
