Fire extinguishers lay in the grounds of the Paradise hotel in the village of Kikambala, some 25kms north of the Kenyan city of Mombasa, December 1, 2002. Sixteen people were killed, according to Kenyan police, two of them children and three suicide bombers, when bombers drove a four-wheel drive vehicle into the lobby of the Israeli-owned hotel, just minutes after two missiles were fired at an Israeli airliner taking off nearby.
