Frankfurt am Main, Hessen, Germany The picture shows numerous passers-by on the square in front of the Hauptwache, a former Baroque guard building. The Hauptwache was used as a cafe from the beginning of the 20th century and rebuilt in 1954 after being destroyed during the Second World War. The picture probably dates back to 1954-1959. In the background are numerous large department stores and office buildings. On their roofs are, among other things, advertising boards of Nescafe, Chlorodent and Coca Cola. On the right is a Kaufhof department store.
