The view is taken in the Great Court at Trinity College, facing north. In the middle of the courtyard is the Fountain, behind which is seen the sundial and King Edward III’s (clock) Tower. The Chapel is on the right. The gateway on the extreme right of the painting is The Great Gate. The building dominating the left side is the Hall, next to which (opposite the Great Gate) is the Master’s Lodge. There are groups of dons, one of whom is showing round two female visitors; a college gardener is mowing the lawn and there are ducks on the lawn. Anglesey Abbey, Cambridgeshire (Accredited Museum)
